|About the Book|
B This book is a must for any Ginsberg-phile- really interesting play-by-play of the Howl censorship trial. Ginzy wasnt there, but the brilliance of Defense Attorney Ehrlich comes through- featuring Kenneth Rexroth as witness, among other brilliant writers who testify to the literary merit of Howl. Ferlinghetti was awesome for the way he handled this case (Ive read background info on this not in here) and Im glad Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg did their part for free speech. The original trial transcripts were in the Naropa Archive (I saw them when I worked there!) and it was nice to read them in full. Recommended for Ginsberg fans and those interested in censorship issues.
